Somerset Autism Strategy 2015 -2018
“Working together for people living with Autism in Somerset”
The Autism strategy was produced by the Somerset Autism Strategy Group which is a multi-agency group, Chaired by Somerset County Council. It brings together different agencies and stakeholders, spanning health and social care commissioning, relevant health and social care services, children’s services, the National Autistic Society (NAS) and Somerset parent carer forum.

The Strategy Group will report to the Joint Commissioning Board and the Somerset Children’s Trust.
There are four subgroups created that will take forward the actions as outlined in the strategy:
- Living with Autism chaired by Rhian Bennett Senior Commissioning officer Somerset County Council
- Workforce Development chaired by Sean Taylor Staff Development Officer Adult Social Care, Learning and Development
- Identification and Diagnosis
- Children and Young People – Chair by Ruth Hobbs Director Somerset Parent Carer Forum
