DESCRIPTION:Work has been taking place to develop a clear\, concise\, accessible & user-friendly framework that outlines provision for pupils with SEND in Somerset\, and is in line with the guidance in the Special Education Needs & Disabilities (SEND) Code of Practice 2015.\nThe revised Core Standards will provide parent/carers\, educational settings & other professionals with information to understand the type of support and provision a child or young person with SEND may require in order to meet their needs and ensure educational progress is made. As such\, the revised Core Standards will support consistency in SEND provision across Somerset. \n \nDuring this event you will get to see the work so far and be able to feed your views into the process. You can book a space here. \nThe sessions will be held over Microsoft Teams to enable people from all over the county to be involved. Links will sent 24 hours before the event is due to start. SUMMARY:Wheelchair and equipment service
DESCRIPTION:The Community Equipment and Wheelchair service are currently being recommissioned and we are looking to work with a group of parents who have used the service previously. \n \nThe group will review the applications to provide the service and take part in a focus group discussion on Friday 26th November 12-1. All participants will need to sign a confidentiality agreement not to discuss the applications outside of the group (due to this being a legal process). \nA representative from SPCF will let meet with commissioners on Monday 29th November to feedback the groups views. \nIf you are interested please contact us by midday Wednesday 24th November. DESCRIPTION:We would like to hear your thoughts and experiences of accessing support for children who have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities in Somerset before they get to school. \nOur focus areas are the support from the area SENCO team (specialist teachers) and the Portage service. These services have been identified as having not been reviewed for a while and we want to ensure they are meeting local need. \nWe want to know: \n\nIf money were no object what would the perfect service look like?\nWhat is working well?\nWhat could be better?\n\nThe sessions are open to anyone with an interest in this area to come together at one of 2 sessions. In particular we are keen to hear from families and setting provider leaders who are using these services currently or in the last few years. \nThe sessions will take place on line via Microsoft teams.
