SUMMARY:Wheelchair and equipment service
DESCRIPTION:The Community Equipment and Wheelchair service are currently being recommissioned and we are looking to work with a group of parents who have used the service previously. \n \nThe group will review the applications to provide the service and take part in a focus group discussion on Friday 26th November 12-1. All participants will need to sign a confidentiality agreement not to discuss the applications outside of the group (due to this being a legal process). \nA representative from SPCF will let meet with commissioners on Monday 29th November to feedback the groups views. \nIf you are interested please contact us by midday Wednesday 24th November. SUMMARY:Dynamic Support Register information design session
DESCRIPTION:Local NHS services must understand the needs of people with a learning disability\, autism or both in their area\, so that they can make sure people receive the right support. It is importance that services know the people who are likely to need additional support so that they don’t end up being admitted to mental health or learning disability hospitals unnecessarily. \nThere is a requirement for clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to develop and maintain registers to identify people with a learning disability\, autism or both who display\, or are at risk of developing\, behaviour that challenges or mental health conditions who were most likely to be at risk of admission. \nSomerset has recently developed a dynamic support register and they want to raise awareness and understanding of the register. We are looking for a small group of parents to review the draft documents which have been put together by the CCG based on national versions. DESCRIPTION:Our parent support groups are a great way to meet other parents for practical and emotional support. These are face-to-face groups but if restrictions are imposed\, we switch to virtual ones. Our support groups are run by parents and carers of children with additional needs. \nOur groups offer: \n\nFriendship\nOpportunities to socialise\nInformation and advice\nEmotional and moral support\nA listening ear\n\nAll our groups are open to parents and carers of children (0-25) with any additional need and or disability. We know families need support as early as possible\, so we do not need your child to have received a diagnosis for you to attend. The session with be lead by Somerset’s educational psychology service. \nAttention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition that affects people’s behaviour. People with ADHD can seem restless\, may have trouble concentrating and may act on impulse. \nSymptoms of ADHD tend to be noticed at an early age and may become more noticeable when a child’s circumstances change\, such as when they start school. \nMost cases are diagnosed when children are 3 to 7 years old\, but sometimes it’s diagnosed later in childhood. \nSometimes ADHD was not recognised when someone was a child\, and they are diagnosed later as an adult. \nThe symptoms of ADHD usually improve with age\, but many adults who were diagnosed with the condition at a young age continue to experience problems. \nPeople with ADHD may also have additional problems\, such as sleep and anxiety disorders. \nRegistration is via the link below
