IPSEA SEND Law Training for Parent Carers

SEND Law Training for Parent Carers is tailored to the main issues parent carers are facing in your area as identified through a pre-training exercise, it will also cover:
• The legislative framework for supporting children and young people with SEND
• The legal duties of local authorities and schools / FE colleges and other settings
• Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessments and reassessments
• The content of EHC plans, including naming a placement and amending a plan
• Annual reviews
• Appealing to the SEND Tribunal
• An introduction to the Equality Act 2010, including the duty to make reasonable adjustments
• The law on exclusions
• The temporary legislative changes arising from Covid-19 (if currently applicable)
We only have limited spaces for the session. We want to open the opportunity to access this training up to individuals who in the first place have not done this type of training in the past. Any spaces remaining will be opened up to a wider audience.
