We are delighted to announce the first of our Let’s Talk SEND & Inclusion events for this year. This event is for parent carers and practitioners in Somerset.
- Date – Tuesday 8th October 2024
- Venue – St Andrews Church, Greenway Av, Taunton, TA2 6HU
- Time – 10am-2pm
- Online discussion groups – 7pm-9pm
The event will include a range of opportunities to share your views on SEND and Inclusion topics.
There will be a range of local providers with information stands so you can find out more about what is available.
Discussion themes
1- Exclusions and risk of exclusions – Somerset has a high level of exclusions, including a large number of children with SEND. We will be joined by a member of Somerset Council to discuss this important topic.
2- Making the money work better – This is an opportunity for Parent Carers to feed into the consultation already taking place around SEND education funding availability.
3- Support offer for children struggling to access school – this forms part of the consultation mentioned above, but on those that are struggling to attend school.
4- Is the local offer working for you – Join the local offer development team to discus what works for you and what could be improved.
