As a Parent Carer Forum, we offer a range of opportunities for people to get involved on a voluntary basis. We truly value lived experience and believe it plays a vital role in shaping the work we do.
By sharing your experiences, you can help:
- Inform and improve local services
- Support and empower other Parent Carers
- Strengthen the Parent Carer voice at meetings and decision-making forums
Whether you have a little time or more regular availability, there are many ways to get involved. We understand that caring responsibilities come first, and our opportunities are designed to be flexible and supportive.
Here are some of the ways volunteers can be involved:
Steering Group Member – Voluntary role
The steering group provides guidance to the directors on the forums’ aims and priorities. The steering group provides constructive challenge to ensure the effective management of the forum. Parent Carer Representative – Voluntary role
We are always looking for support with the various aspect of running the forum. Whether helping with events and chill & chat sessions, to helping by attending various meetings to share the wider lived experience of parents in Somerset. Please click below for an application form.
