SEND reform: putting children and young people first
The SEND reforms consultation seeks views on proposed changes to the special educational needs and disabilities system. We wanted to make sure the voices of families are at the heart of our response to the SEND and Alternative Provision reforms consultation.
To support this, we have already held two team sessions to review and reflect on the feedback shared by families.We also arranged a presentation from Polly Kerr of Simpson Millar Law Firm, which helped us understand the legal implications of the proposed reforms (see below)
In addition, we have created a Padlet where parent carers and others could easily share their thoughts and experiences.
We also held a live online session on Thursday 14 May 6:30 -8pm to talk through some of the main themes from the consultation and hear your views directly. We were pleased to be joined by Heather Shearer and Diogo Rodrigues.
