Dynamic Support Register information design session

December 3, 2021 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Local NHS services must understand the needs of people with a learning disability, autism or both in their area, so that they can make sure people receive the right support. It is importance that services know the people who are likely to need additional support so that they don’t end up being admitted to mental health or learning disability hospitals unnecessarily.

There is a requirement for clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) to develop and maintain registers to identify people with a learning disability, autism or both who display, or are at risk of developing, behaviour that challenges or mental health conditions who were most likely to be at risk of admission.

Somerset has recently developed a dynamic support register and they want to raise awareness and understanding of the register. We are looking for a small group of parents to review the draft documents which have been put together by the CCG based on national versions. If you would like to get involved there will be a meeting online to look at these and we would value your views.

If you are interested in joining with other parents to look at these please email getinvolved@somersetparentcarerforum.org.uk or ring 01458 259384.

You can find out more about the registers on the NHS website.
